oikos Curriculum Change Open Evenings

oikos Curriculum Change – Open Evenings

During the 3-day oikos International Academy 2021 (February 26 – 28), students and early researchers will work together on the topic of curriculum change under the guidance of oikos International. The St.Gallen chapter, which is hosting the Academy this year, will draw on the findings and organise four open input sessions and discussion rounds for the students of the University of St.Gallen (HSG) in the following week – the Open Evenings.

The sessions focus on generating attention for the topic of sustainability at our university. On the one hand, the concrete goal is to initiate a dialogue among students as well as between students, faculties and the university administration. On the other hand, the long-term aim is to integrate sustainability topics into the compulsory curricula.

We want to use the momentum of the Academy to promote and advance Curriculum Change at our own University. After all, by signing the Global Climate Letter for Universities and Colleges as well as the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education, the University of St.Gallen has officially committed itself to strengthening and better integrating the topic of sustainable development in the curricula.

In the week following the Curriculum Change Academy, we will therefore be holding the four Open Evenings, each of which will take place from 6.00 to 7.30 pm. Each evening we explore the integration of sustainability in teaching from different angles, for example through the lens of plural economics or the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
