HSG MBA joins the top ten of Corporate Knights Ranking

The HSG MBA program has been ranked number 9 overall in the Corporate Knights 2021 Better World MBA Ranking. For the first time in the 19-year history of the Corporate Knights ranking, the HSG MBA program was identified as a global top ten program. The Corporate Knights business magazine was recognizing the HSG MBA’s increasing sustainability ambitions across its course content and faculty research, and its improvement in gender diversity among faculty staff. The performance in the 2021 Better World MBA ranking is also a testament to how ESG topics are integrated throughout the MBA curriculum and demonstrates thought leadership with the University-wide research output.

The 2021 Better World MBA top-40 ranking from Corporate Knights examined the performances of 147 business schools, drawn from the most recent Financial Times list of the top-100 global MBA programs; the schools that made the 2019 Corporate Knights Better World top-40 roster; and business schools both accredited by AMBA, AACSB or EQUIS and also signatories to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education that opt in for evaluation. The ranking is based on publicly disclosed information on their websites. All schools are evaluated on seven metrics and then given the opportunity to review and request revisions to the analysis. These performance indicators with different weightings are the base for the ranking: core course integration of sustainability (30%), research publications per faculty member on sustainability topics in calendar year 2020 (20%), percentage of total faculty publications in 2020 on sustainability topics (20%), number of citations per faculty for those publications (10%), sustainability-focused research institutes and centers (10%), faculty gender diversity (5%) and faculty racial diversity (5%).
