Fostering responsibility & sustainability into student learning: Rethink your teaching in the context of Responsibility and Sustainability

The Hochschuldidaktisches Zentrum (HDZ) and the Delegates Team for Responsibility and Sustainability join forces to provide support primarily to faculty and lecturers, but also to program managers, looking for ways to foster responsibility and sustainability into student learning. Aligning with the HSG strategy to embed responsibility and sustainability into teaching, this course enables the participants to rethink and innovate their own (already existing or new) course in the context of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The goal is to reflect on how their course fosters responsibility and sustainability into student learning from a content and methodological perspective.

As a participant, you will:

  • Learn about the importance of R&S in Higher Education and HSG Context.
  • Get inspired by other participant’s experiences, as well as by methodological and sustainability-related content resources.
  • Exchange with peers and experts on your challenges in designing a constructive learning environment.
  • Reflect on your course and find the support you need to implement R&S into it.

The course is composed of different elements: An online kick-off event, a preparation assignment, a presence workshop, a follow up assignment and an optional support on the long run. The estimated commitment of a participant is about 10 hours. The course will be conducted in English.
